Musik Installationen Nürnberg is a festival for music as performative spatial art. The Music Installations concentrate on works that create a spatially and temporally de-hierarchized exhibition situation for the audience. [+]

Our collaboration aimed to blur the boundaries between art, architecture, and sound, fostering immersive experiences that invited festival visitors to engage with their urban environment in new and unexpected ways. Through this exploration, we sought to create moments of connection and interaction, where the city itself became a canvas for artistic expression and exploration.

The project was carried out in cooperation with Dynamische Akustische Forschung (DAF), an independent collective of artists dedicated to exploring sound in public spaces.
Interpret*innenkammer[+] is an interdisciplinary lab at the University of the Arts Bremen under the coordination of Professor Raphael Sbrzesny.

Musik Installationen Nürnberg is founded and directed by Laure M. Hiendl & Bastian Zimmermann.

Locations were strategically chosen to host temporary installations within architectural spaces. Over the course of four days, visitors were invited to join a bicycle caravan to explore the installations.

Festival attendees were encouraged to participate in Jam sessions, where they could interact with a metal table equipped with sensors and microphones, transforming their interaction into sounds in response.
